Guidelines For MS
GENERAL
INFORMATION TO THE APPLICANTS FOR APPLYING TO LT POWER
The
applicants are requested to go through these guidelines carefully and furnish the
information correctly. The amount of deposits to be paid later are also intimated below:
The
application along with RR docket shall be filled in and shall be filled at the local
office of the Licensee.
The
enclosures required are :
1. Attested true
copies or Photostat copies of the following documents as applicable shall be enclosed
along with the application.
(a)
Proof of ownership of the premises in the form of Registered sale deed or partition deed
or katha/ succession or heir ship certificate or deed of last will or proof of occupancy
such as valid power of attorney or latest rent paid receipt or valid lease deed.
(b)
General Licence from local authority, if such Licence is provided for,
(c) In
case of partnership firm, partnership deed.
(d) In
case of Limited Company, Memorandum and artilcles of Association and Certification of
incorporation.
(e)
Indemnity Bond as per Annexure-I, if the Consumer is not the owner of the premises.
(f)
Proof of Permanent residential address of the applicant and PAN Number, if any. If there
is any change at a later date, the same shall be intimated by the applicant to the
Licensee immediately.
Note:
However, there is no necessity of production of the licence from the local authority when
the supply is required for an industry to be set up in an Industrial estate established by
KIADB / KSSIDC / KEONICS / OTHER Industrial Estates approved by the Gov. of
Karnataka.
2. Pay Rs. 100/- as
registration fees at the cash counter of the sub division office/ section office and
produce the receipt while registration.
3. The

rates indicated above is subjected to change from time to time on account of change in
tariff rates and schedule of rate).
Service
Line cost as per section 30.
Upto
and inclusive of 7.5KW/10HP ----- NIL
Above
7.5KW and inclusive of 15KWS ------ RS.750/- per KW for loads above 7.5KWS.
Above
15KWS and upto and inclusive of 25KWS--- Rs.3750/- plus Rs.1000/- per KW for loads above
15KWS.
Above
25KWS------Rs.13750/- plus Rs.1500/- per KW for loads above 25KWS.
In
addition to the above, Rs.1000/- per KW for loads above 3.0KWS shall be collected in BMRDA
area towards HT/LT cable system.
(The
rates indicated above may change from time to time).
4. If
additional load required to the existing installation warrants replacing the existing
servicemains, the service mains are to be replaced at your cost (the released portion of
servicemain to be given to KPTCL).
5.
Produce a road cutting / foot path cutting permission from the corporation or other local
Body to lay the Underground service mains.
6. All
applications for power supply at low tension shall be filed at least 30 days before the
expected date of supply in case where the service lines have been laid and power supply is
readily available.
7.
Produce completion cum test report from a Licensed Electrical Contractor approved by the
Govt. of Karnataka along with wiring diagram in duplicate.
8. The
relevant draft agreement is annexed. Produce the same in DUPLICATE with original embossed
for Rs. 50/- and duly signed on all pages.
9.
Ensure that only ISI marked materials are used in your installation. You are
responsible for all the maintenance inside your premises at all times.
10. If
the service mains become faulty within one year, then you have to replace it at your cost.
11. In
case of additional load, there shall be no arrears of revenue and difference of 3MMD and
MSD, if any shall also be paid.
12.
Observe the formalities within 90 days time as per intimation of KPTCL, failing which, the
power sanction will automatically lapse.
13. During the
servicing of your installation, you shall be present to ensure that
assigned
R.R. No. is painted on Meter Board.
you
affix your signature in the meter sealing register.

get your copy of the bilateral agreement

get a Service Certificate.
14.
Provide LT capacitors of appropriate capacity as per following table to maintain the
powers factor of your installation above 0.85 in every billing period to avoid power
factor penalty. ( THE CAPACITORS ARE TO BE EVENLY DISTRIBUTED TO ALL THE MOTORS TO AVOID
OVER COMPENSATION).

15. If the Trivector meters are provided, the monthly power factor for
billing will be recorded along with Demand and energy. The recorded quantity will be taken
for billing purposes.
16.
One independent earth electrode with two distinct and separate earth connections are to be
provided as per ISS 3043 to the body of the metering PANEL. The GI pipe used for grounding
should be 2.6 mtrs long, 40mm dia, approved class. The earthing shall be as per the
specification and Drawing enclosed.
17.
Meter Board shall be located in easily accessible place.
18.
Please mention your application serial number / R. R. No. in all your future
correspondences.
19. If
the work involves additional infrastructure, the service will be given after completing
the proposed works.
20. If
you do not get the first energy bill within 2 months from the date of servicing of the
installation, please contact the sub division officer concerned with the Service
Certificate.
21. If
the proposed service mains passes through property of some other person, the consent
letter of the person to take the service line in his premises shall be furnished.
22. If
additional power is being availed, new agreement shall be for the aggregate of the power
and the old agreement will stand cancelled.
23.
The KPTCL Office will commence its portion of extension of lines work only after all the
works pertaining to the applicant are completed.
24.
Appropriate type of starters with over current and no volt devices are to be provided to
all the motors as under:
Upto 3
HP
direct on line type starters.
Upto
30 HP
..star delta type starters.
Above
30 HP
auto transformer starters.
Wound
rotor motors are to be provided with rotor resistance type starters.
25.
After the KPTCL portion of works are completed, 30 days notice will be served to avail the
power supply failing which the installation will be deemed as serviced for the purpose of
levying the fixed charges as per the tariff.
26.In
the Corporation limits and agglomeration area of Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore &
Hubli-Dharwad, Shimoga and Bhadravathi and at such other places as may be notified by the
Licensee from time to time, the service line shall be laid by underground cables only.
27.
The original licence shall be produced at the time of servicing.
28. If
the load desired is more than 50KWs or 66HP., please note that the power supply will not
be given on LT Basis (400V, 3 Phase) . You will have to avail power supply on HT 11KV mode
under section 8 of KERC ES&D Code. Note: HT supply can also be availed upto a minimum
Contract Demand of 25KVA.
29. In
respect of revenue payments up to and inclusive of Rs. 10,000/- shall be made by cash or
cheque or DD and payments above Rs.10,000/- shall be made by cheque or DD. Payments under
other heads of account shall be made by cash or DD up to and inclusive of Rs.10,000/- and
above Rs.10,000/- shall be by D.D. only.
30.
COSTS TOWARDS SERVICE LINE FROM LT APPLICANTS:
(Applicable
for Section 9.00)
Service
line charges shall be collected based on specified loan for loads above 25 KW.
For
specified loads below 25kW service Line charges shall be collected based on requisition
load.

Rs.10,000/- per KW in other places. |
In
addition to the above charges, an additional amount of Rs.1000/- per KW for the loads
above 3 KW shall be collected in Bangalore ( Corporation, B.D.A., B.M.R.D.A. Area) towards
HT/LT U.G. Cable system.
