General Guidelines For MS
GENERAL
GUIDELINES TO THE APPLICANT FOR APPLYING TO HT
The
applicants are requested to go through these guidelines carefully and furnish the
information correctly. The amount of deposit to be paid later is also intimated below:
The
application along with RR docket shall be filled in and shall be filled at the local
office of the Licensee.
The
enclosures required are :
1.
Attested true copies or Photostat copies of the following documents as applicable shall be
enclosed along with the application.
(a)
Proof of ownership of the premises in the form of Registered sale deed or partition deed
or katha/ succession or heir ship certificate or deed of last will or proof of occupancy
such as valid power of attorney or latest rent paid receipt or valid lease deed.
(b)
General Licence from local authority, if such Licence is provided for,
(c) In
case of partnership firm, partnership deed.
(d) In
case of Limited Company, Memorandum and artilcles of Association and Certificate of
incorporation.
(e)
Indemnity Bond as per Annexure-I, if the Consumer is not the owner of the premises.
(f)
Proof of Permanent residential address of the applicant and PAN Number, if any. If there
is any change at a later date, the same shall be intimated by the applicant to the
Licensee immediately.
Note:
However, there is no necessity of production of the licence from the local authority when
the supply is required for an industry to be set up in an Industrial estate established by
KIADB / KSSIDC / KEONICS / OTHER Industrial Estates approved by the Govt. of
Karnataka.
2. Pay
Rs. 250/- as registration fees at the cash counter of the Division Office and produce the
receipt while registration.
3.The
following deposits are to be paid by you on being intimated
- Initial security
deposit at Rs

- Meter security deposit

- Supervision charges at
% of the estimate cost to provide power supply.
- Rs

towards the Fee for electrical inspectorate inspection of the H.T metering cubicle/U.G.

4.
Show your building for which you desire power supply to the Asst.Ex.Engineer, Elecl., or
officer incharge within 10 days from the date of registration of this application to fix
the position of the metering cubicle and to prepare the estimate.
5.Produce
completion cum test report from a Licensed Electrical Contractor approved by the Govt. of
Karnataka along with wiring diagram in duplicate along with machinery and transformer
details.
6. The
relevant draft agreement is annexed. Produce the same in TRIPLICATE with original embossed
for Rs. 50/- duly signed on all pages.
7.
Ensure that only ISI marked materials are used in your installation. You are
responsible for all the maintenances inside your premises at all times if the service main
become faulty within in one year of service, you will have to replace at your cost.
8. If
the line executed by you becomes faulty within one year from the date of service, they
have to be replaced by you at your cost.
9.
Incase of additional load, there shall be no arrears of revenue.
10.
Observe all the formalities as intimated within 90 days from the date of sanction, failing
which, the power sanction will automatically lapse.
11.
During the servicing of your installation, you shall be present to ensure that the

R.R. No. is painted.
you
affix your signature in the sealing register.
Get
YOUR copy of the bilateral agreement.
Get
a service certificate .
12.
Provide capacitors of appropriate capacity to maintain the power factor of your
installation above 0.85 in every billing period to avoid power factor penalty.
13.
The transformer to be used in your premises should have off load / on load tap change.
15.
The capacity of any individual machine should not be more than the contract demand.
16.
One independent earth electrode with two distinct and separate earth connections are to be
provided as per ISS 3043 to the body of the metering cubicle provided by KPTCL. The GI
pipe used should be 2.6 mtrs. Long, 40mm dia of approved class (specification &
drawing enclosed).
17.
The following formalities are also to be fulfilled:
- Execute the work of
infrastructure as per the sanctioned estimate through Class I Licensed Electrical
contractor under KPTCL supervision
- Space for locating the
metering cubicle be justify in the premises in the front entrance and shall be visible
from outside Road.
- The entire
infrastructure will be the property of KPTCL.
- The proof of purchase
of all materials used like Bills/ Invoices are to be furnished.
- Test certificates of
the transformer and switchgear are to be furnished.
18. The electrical
connections are to be as under:
(1)
In case of Over Head System
- Service main cable from
the point to be decided to the two pole structure outside premises.
- The two pole structure
to have HT GOS and HT fuse outside the premises.
- The metering cubicle to
be connected after the HG fuse , by an underground cable only.
- The load side of the
metering cubicle to the two pole structure to have isolating HT GOS and HT fuse.
- The Customers
transformer to be connected after the HT fuse at the at the two pole structure after
metering cubicle.
- The above arrangement
shall be incorporated in the drawing and be got approved before ordering the same and
installing thereafter.
19.
Please mention your Sl.No./R. R. No. in all your future correspondences.
20. If
the work involves additional infrastructure, the service will be given after completing
the proposed works.
21. If
you do not get the first energy bill within 1 month from the date of servicing of the
installation, please contact the sub division officer.
22.
The required electrical Inspectrate certificate as per rule 63(3) of IE Rules 1956 is to
be furnished by you for commissioning the transformer equipments and transformer.
23.
Work order will be issued and the HT metering cubicle will be allotted after:
All the
amounts as per intimation are paid.
Completion
report of the contractor is furnished.
In case
additional load, after all arrears are paid.
Execute
power supply agreement in triplicate.
The
entire works as estimated will have to carried out by the customer at his cost.
NOTE: The HT supply can be availed upto minimum contract demand of 25KVA.
THE INSTALLATION WILL BE DEEMED AS SERVICED IF SERVICE IS NOT
AVAILED WITHIN ONE MONTH OF ISSUE OF NOTICE.
